Mr smart ("we," "us," or "our") provides the Status Saver mobile application (package name: com.smartcast.statussaver). This policy explains how the app accesses, uses, stores, and shares information.
1. Summary
Status Saver works primarily on your device. It lets you view, save, share, and repost WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business status photos and videos after you grant access to the relevant folder through Android's system folder picker.
We do not require an account. The current version does not send your status media, personal information, or usage activity to a server operated by us. We do not sell personal information.
2. Information the App Accesses
Status photos and videos
When you choose a folder using Android's Storage Access Framework, the app receives permission to access media in that user-selected folder. This may include status photos, status videos, filenames, file types, sizes, and modification times stored in:
Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp/Media/.StatusesAndroid/media/com.whatsapp.w4b/WhatsApp Business/Media/.Statuses
The app uses this access only for status viewing, thumbnail creation, playback, saving, sharing, and reposting. Folder access is not granted until you approve it in Android's system interface.
App settings and local records
The app stores preferences and operational information locally on your device, such as selected folders, granted folder-access references, display settings, and cached media information needed to improve loading performance.
Information we do not intentionally collect
The current version does not ask us to collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, WhatsApp messages, payment information, passwords, or account credentials. It does not include developer-operated analytics or crash-reporting services.
3. How Information Is Used
The app processes accessible media on your device to:
- find and display available statuses;
- create and cache thumbnails;
- play photos and videos;
- save selected media to your device's shared media storage;
- share or repost media when you request it;
- remember app settings and folder permissions; and
- diagnose errors locally and maintain app functionality.
We do not use accessible status media for profiling, behavioral advertising, or sale.
4. Sharing and Reposting
When you tap Share or Repost, Android sends the media you selected to the app or service you choose, which may include WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business. This happens only after your action. The receiving service processes the media under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not control how a third-party service handles content after you send it.
5. Local Storage, Retention, and Deletion
Status scanning, thumbnail generation, playback, and caching occur locally on your device. Cached copies may remain in the app's private storage until Android clears them, you clear the app's storage or cache, or you uninstall the app.
Media you deliberately save to shared device storage remains there until you delete it. Uninstalling Status Saver may not delete media you previously saved outside the app's private storage.
You can remove local app information through Android Settings > Apps > Status Saver > Storage > Clear storage or by uninstalling the app. You can revoke folder access through Android settings or by clearing app storage. Revoking access prevents the app from loading new media from that folder.
6. Data Security
Because the current version performs its core media processing locally, status media is not uploaded to a server operated by us. We use Android's permission and app-storage mechanisms to limit access. However, no device or storage method is completely secure, particularly after you share media with another app or save it to shared storage.
7. Advertising and Third-Party SDKs
The current version does not integrate an advertising SDK. If a future version introduces advertisements, analytics, crash reporting, or another third-party SDK that collects or shares user or device data, we will update this policy and the app's Google Play Data safety disclosure before that data handling begins. The updated policy will identify the relevant provider and purposes where required.
8. Children's Privacy
Status Saver is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Your Choices
You control whether the app can access a status folder and which media you save, share, or repost. You may:
- decline or revoke folder access;
